The Cooper Invitational tipped off with an impressive display by the Derech Hatorah Bulldogs. They played fearlessly and led throughout the game paced by Harry Velenski. As the game progressed, the Knights defense turned into a foul bonanza as they had collected 13 team fouls by halftime. The Bulldogs continued holding off the Knights in the 3rd quarter and finished the quarter up 42-33.

The Knights could not step things up in the 4th quarter, and the Bulldogs upset the Knights 59-46. “Everyone contributed to a great win and we are all having an amazing time so far”, noted Velenski who totaled 30 points for an exceptional start to the Cooper Invitational.

MTA’s Yisroel Feld led the team with 23 points. MTA advances into the second round while Westchester hopes to rebound in the Tier 2 Tournament.
