This game against the 4th seaded North Shore Stars and the 5th seeded JDS Lions started off aggressive, as the Lions drew three fouls within the two minutes. A layup by Prigal in the opening seconds and a free throw by Knapp gave the Lions a 3-0 lead to start the game. Both teams were focusing on their inside game, making shots in the paint to make the score 5-4, Lions lead. But a mid ranger from Priger and a layup by Halpern and Kravitz extended the lions lead to 11-4. But North Shore looked to muscle their way back with an and one layup and free throw by Cody Cohen to make the score 11-8 going into the second quarter.

A mid ranger by Zarifpour and a layup by Hecht started off the scoring for the Stars, as they took a 12-11 point lead, making it their first lead of the game. Soon after, an and-one fast break from Zbrowski, and another fastbreak layup from Haft helped extend their lead. Soon after, a three pointer from Zbrowski, a sweet spinning layup from Cohen, and a layup from Hecht made the score 23-11, Star’s lead. The Star’s momentum was too much for the Lions, causing them to call a time out. The time out seemed to work, as the Stars went on to miss their next 4 shots, but the Lions weren’t countering with anything of their own, keeping the scoring stagnant. Going into the half, the score was 27-12, North Shore lead.

After a slow start for both teams, Cohen made the first points with a mid range jumper to start the half. But they kept firing those mid rangers, and Zborowski had two in a row. Shortly after, Lubin had two three pointers in a row, and three more short jumpers from Cohen. The Stars were on a 16-0 run in the first three minutes of the first half, and showed no signs of slowing down with the score at 43-14. Even with their team behind, the Lions were still bringing their energy from the bench onto the court, fighting for loose balls, and drawing charges. They fought back a bit, and lowered the deficit to 48-27 going into the final quarter.

All though the Stars had the big lead, the momentum was with the Lions. They had lowered their deficit by ten points to make the score 51- 34 with 6:02 left in the game. Although they turned the ball over 3 times in the first two minutes, they forced 4 and even drew 2 charging calls. They also caused Cody Cohen to foul out with 5:50 left. The Stars started to cool JDS’s hot shooting, and forced several turnovers and free throws. North Shore extended their lead back to 72-47 by the end of the game.
