In the first quarter, Yavneh played well in the paint, and their big man Adam Schor scored 8 in the first quarter alone. The Lions fouled a lot, giving the Bulldogs many free throw opportunities. The score at the end of the quarter was 18-10, Yavneh.

The Lions started off the 2nd quarter well, with a sweet and-1 play from shooting guard Bryan Knapp. After that, they struggled to score, missing a lot of field goals, which in part was due to the Bulldogs’ menacing defense. Matan Meloul of the Lions pulled down a lot of boards, but the Bulldogs were still able to keep their lead. Although the Bulldogs saw their lead get cut in half when they allowed four points in the final 8 seconds of the quarter, they still led 32-25 at halftime. Adam Schor finished the half with 14 points for the Bulldogs.

The Lions kicked off the 3rd quarter with yet another and-1 play from Knapp, but again struggled to continue to score. The Bulldogs had nice ball movement throughout the quarter. Itan Guttman dominated in the post, scoring 5 in quarter. Yavneh guard Grant Prengler scored a beautiful and-1 three-pointer, which sparked a big run from Yavneh, allowing them to finally pull away from the Lions for good. The score at the end of the quarter was 53-36, Yavneh and the rout was on.

The Bulldogs carried their momentum into the 4th quarter, where they continued to dominate the Lions. Yavneh’s great ball movement gave them very easy buckets and their tough defense did not allow the Lions to score. Yavneh Coach David Zimmerman’s harsh discipline on his players paid off, and the Bulldogs cruised to a 72-52 victory. Yavneh big men Adam Schor and Itan Guttman combined for 26 points and guard Bryan Knapp pitched in 15 points for the Lions.
