A Tier II matchup Friday afternoon pitted the #3 North Shore Hebrew Academy Stars against the #6 CJHS Tigers. North Shore got off to a good start, but the Tigers countered with a nice run led by David Vayngart to take the lead. The Stars, however, got their lead back with strong play from Mitchell Hutt. The Tigers stayed close behind. The score at the end of the half was 22-18, with Hutt leading the Stars with 8 points, and Felix Rosen leading the Tigers with six points.

In the beginning of the 3rd quarter, there were a lot of sloppy plays by both teams, and the game remained close. Silverstein played well, adding an important three early on. Finally, some good defense on both sides led to a low scoring quarter. It was missed shot after missed shot, and both teams could not get the ball in the hoop.

In the 4th quarter, Chicagoland took control early, only leading by a small margin. Silverstein was big for Chicagoland, who had 12 points on the day. Vayngart was a big contributor as well. The Tigers had a slight edge throughout the quarter, but just could not put North Shore away. North Shore stayed in the game with good defensive stops and foul shots. It ultimately paid off for North Shore as they were able to come back and win the game 48-41. The leading scorers were Ryan Levian with 19 points for North Shore, and Brian Silverstein with 12 points for Chicagoland.

The win puts the Stars into the Tier 2 semi-finals, while the loss moves the Tigers into Consolation play on Saturday night.
