The first game of Tier II on Sunday, the Tier II Consolation game, featured the #2 Waterbury Wolfpack against the #5 Kushner Cobras. Waterbury seemed to be a little more awake to start the game, and they built a 6 point lead to end the first quarter. The score at the end of the first quarter was 16-10 in favor of the Wolfpack.

The second quarter was a bit better for Kushner and they started to hang with the Wolfpack. Sam Bernstein drained some three balls and brought the Cobras back to within 5 points. The score at halftime was 29 – 24 in favor of Waterbury.

The third quarter once again belonged to the Wolfpack. They took advantage of Cobra turnovers and second chance points. They blew the game open and took a commanding lead going up by 24 points midway through the fourth quarter. From there, they were able to cruise to victory. The Wolfpack was led by the shooting of Eli David who knocked down a couple of 3’s and the aggressive inside play of Guard Abie Resnick. The Cougars were led by Shmuel Bernstein with 20 points. In the end, although the Cobras never gave up, the onslaught from Waterbury was too much from them to handle. The final score was 69 – 48 in favor of Waterbury.
