The final game on Court 2 Saturday night pitted the Berman Cougars of Maryland against the Yeshiva Atlanta Lions. The game off to a bit of a slow start, and at the end of the first quarter, the Berman Cougars were leading 17-11. Hershey Zaks was particularly good, giving them a leading edge with several fade-away shots. Atlanta failed to answer back, their ball-handling skills a little slow.

The second quarter had the Atlanta Lions waking up, as we went into halftime with a score of 26-16. A lot of fouls were drawn in this period, as the players began to grow tired. Nothing a quick halftime break won’t fix, though.

The margin just grew bigger and bigger in the third quarter as the Lions just can’t keep with the Cougars. Myles Ratner of the Lions tried to decrease the margin in the fourth quarter by knocking down 3 three pointers in a row, but Hershy Zacks of the Cougars answers with his fourth three of the game. Yeshiva Atlanta then got into foul trouble, going into the penalty early and had two players foul out. Aaron Solomon of the Lions hit a nice 3-pointer, but they were still down by a significant amount of points and just ran out of time to mount a comeback. The final score was the Berman Cougars over the Yeshiva Atlanta Lions, 61-49. Hirschy Zaks led the Cougars with 17 points and Myles Ratner 15 led the Lions with 15 points.
