In a Thursday afternoon matchup, the #7 seed Milken Community School Wildcats, faced off against the #10 seed Rae Kushner Yeshiva H.S. Cobras. The game got off to a slow start, with neither team performing offensively. The Wildcats took an early lead with the help of Ethan Zimmerman who had five points in the quarter. The Cobras struggled all quarter, with just one shot made. The quarter ended with the Wildcats ahead, 11-2.

In the second quarter, the Wildcats were in the lead, but the Cobras soon cut that lead just a bit, getting them within reach. The Cobras were led by Koby Stadtmauer who had seven points, and big man Gabe Plotzker, who added four points. Idan Yohanan and Kyler Shohed were key this quarter for the Wildcats. The Wildcats held onto their lead, ending the half up 20-13.

In the third quarter, the Wildcats had a great start, scoring off of fastbreak plays and easy layups. Afenjar was key down low, and Harouni was big outside, knocking down threes and long jumpers. Their lead got bigger and bigger throughout, and the Cobras struggled defensively. The WIldcats were able to get inside, and hit easy shots. They finished off the quarter strong, leading comfortably, 41-26.

In the fourth quarter, the Cobras tried to get back into it, but the Wildcats had good ball movement and took good shots, keeping them way ahead. Afenger and Harouni continued to play well for the Wildcats as they kept the large lead. The Kobras played tighter defense, but it wasn’t enough to slow down the Wildcats, who put the game away winning 54-30. Afenjar was the leading scorer with 16 points for the Wildcats, and Plotzker was the leading scorer for the Cobras.
